5 WAYS TO FEEL WONDERFUL WHEN YOU WAKE UP

Getting up and out of bed can often feel like the toughest part of the day, but it doesn't need to be. Starting your morning in the best way can set the tone for the rest of the day, and increase your productivity. We've written 5 tips on how to bring positivity to your morning and put a spring in your step ready to seize the day.

start your day right

1) Positive affirmations These are statements that can help you to confront and defeat self-sabotaging and negative thoughts. Saying them out loud, and believing in their truth, can help to bring about positive changes. Here are some of our favourites: - I am amazing
- I can do anything
- Positivity is a choice
- I celebrate my individuality
- I am prepared to succeed

2) Visualisation
Your visualisation could involve your goals, what it will look and feel like when you reach them. You could also visualise the day ahead: having a stress free journey, productive day at work, enjoyment of socialising with friends and family, easily achieving all that you aim to do. You visualise what it will look like, feel like, and the happiness it will bring. Creative visualisation is a mental technique that uses the imagination to make dreams and goals come true. Creative visualisation uses the power of the mind, and is the power behind many success stories.

journalling

3) Journalling
Journaling can be an amazing mindful routine by organising thoughts, clearing the mind and problem solving. Journaling can also reduce stress by banishing of negative thoughts and improving your mood. Journalling provides you with a greater sense of overall emotional well-being and happiness.

4)Exercise
Research has found that those who exercise in the morning are more consistent than those who exercise later in the day. Getting your exercise done first thing prevents any excuses to deter you from the gym later in the day and also promotes a positive mindset towards health.
Exercising first thing has also means you are likely to make healthier food choices throughout the day. Not only this but getting your heart rate going in the morning will also increase your metabolism and fat burning potential throughout the day.
Being active first thing in the morning doesn't have to mean sweating it out in the gym, going for a walk, swim, cycle or even stretching can all do wonders for your mind and body.

5) Hydration and Fuel
After hours of fasting during your sleep, what you put into your body first thing in the morning can be important. Rather than reaching for the coffee filter why not try a cup of warm lemon water, or even better a PW Slender Day Tea! Both of which can help kick start your metabolism and flush your body from toxins.

Our Slender Day Tea also contains natural caffeine to give you a much needed morning boost. Our Slender Porridge is also the perfect morning fuel packed full of protein, fibre, vitamins and minerals to help keep you full and alert all the way until lunchtime.
