Post Baby Weight Loss

Hats off to you new mums out there, you’ve just done this incredible thing; you’ve just grown and given birth to ANOTHER PERSON! So firstly, congratulations from us all here at Protein World! We want to make getting your post baby weight loss journey as simple and as effective as possible so you can concentrate on looking after your new little one!
The important thing to remember is to not put any pressure on yourself to ‘bounce back’ after you’ve given birth, there is no time frame! Your body is recovering from a huge event so this may take some time before you can hit the gyms hard.
If you have decided to breastfeed your new baby, there are a few things to remember. Limit caffeine intake as this can pass into your breastmilk and in high doses can cause a restless and anxious baby. Research suggests this limit is approx. 300mg which is around 2-3 cups of regular coffee. PW Slender Blend shake only contains 24mg per serving so is safe for consumption! Also remember to stay hydrated! Breastfeeding can cause hydration losses so aim for around 3 litres of day. The easiest way to do this is carry a refillable water around with you so you don’t forget to drink! Please also remember you will require a few hundred extra calories a day to support your energy and your baby’s! This number is approx. 300kcal and is important to include if you are following a calorie deficit!
We understand some would be very tempted to drastically restrict their calories in an attempt to quickly drop any excess weight gained during pregnancy. Hear it from us here, this is NOT a good idea. Such a large calorie deficit is difficult to maintain and often weight regain is likely and some!
